Its range will be improved.
it is important to ensure the antenna line in direct contact with ground on horizontal surfaces.
This situation is common with direct current chargers that use an external transformer.
Some chargers have a capacitor in series with the voltage supply to further reduce noise.
Keeping the lead connected to the negative terminal will reduce the chances of arcing.
This problem occurs in the US where the voltage regulator has a 5.0 volt rating and in the UK where the voltage regulator has a 4.5 volt rating.
If the user replaces a bad bulb with a new bulb, does the radio still function properly?
Yes.
If the radio is broken due to a lightning strike, will the radio still function properly?
Yes.
In the case of lightning damage to the radio, if the radio is not water damaged, will the radio still function properly?
Yes.
The maximum input power to the internal power amplifier and RF sections is between 3.5 and 4 Watts. A radio connected to the charger output can draw as much as 30 Watts during charging.
This is not likely, if it's a defective radio that's not properly grounded.
If the unit is operating with the antenna and is in a metal case with a ground path to it, and the internal supply is AC (mains) then all components should function when the unit is connected to the charger.
AC power from the charger will flow through the external antenna, the antenna/lens connector and the internal antenna and reach all components inside the unit.
A simple switch test should be sufficient to test that the radio can operate properly with the antenna connected.
If the unit is not water damaged and there is a ground path to the unit, will the radio still function properly?
Yes.
The maximum input power to the internal power amplifier and RF sections is between 3.5 and 4 Watts.
The charge current is limited by the internal filter capacitor.
Because the internal filter capacitor is in parallel with the input impedance of the amplifier (typically 50 ohms) an extra resistor is inserted into series with the input resistor and capacitor.
Note that the internal filter capacitor is typically rated at about 100pF, which is not considered "large" by typical radio standards.

On-air promotions (OTP) are programs broadcast by a radio station that take advantage of content included on a particular program. A producer composes a program on a station’s computer and types in a series of commands to transfer a file of content to the radio station for broadcast.

How to Program a CP-200d with Windows
If you want to program your CP200d with software, you may need to make sure that your computer is compatible with the radio. You can use a Windows program called “Radio Doctor” to assist you in downloading radio updates and new programs.
Your radio will also have its own software to program. You may also need to make sure that the CP200d software version you have is compatible with your computer.
Connect the CP200d to the computer. Make sure that the radio and computer are turned on.
On the radio, press the Program button (Figure 5).
